Peeps Diorama: "All the Single Bunnies (Put a Peeps on it)"

I really should have posted this on April Fool’s Day, as it’s slightly ridiculous (but totally fun). Inspired by the amazing Peeps dioramas and a contest for most interesting use of Peeps over at Serious Eats, I created my own Peeps diorama.

This was also inspired by my own pet bunny, Cinnamon. The other day, I was singing Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” and changed the lyrics to “all the single bunnies…put your ears up…” and started teasing Cinnamon, who saw me coming towards her ears and smartly ran away. She doesn’t like to messed with.

To fulfill my need for “single bunnies,” I made this spoof of Beyonce’s black and white music video for the song. It’s pretty amazing to watch – very simple, just 3 women dancing like crazy against a totally white background. Just imagine these little marshmallow replicas dancing like that! I don’t think they would be quite as graceful.

Everything in the diorama in edible, except for a few carefully placed toothpicks. It didn’t turn out quite as I’d imagined, mostly because frosting and marshmallows are really messy materials. It’s still pretty funny so I thought I’d share it anyhow.

For reference,  here’s a screen shot of “All the Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” video:

    Hello,

I am a research assistant working on an issue of a UK-based journal called Performance Research. We are publishing an article in the upcoming issue that mentions Beyonce’s Single Ladies dance, and would like like to request permission to use the photos on your website (the bunnies and the shot from the music video). Can you advise me as to how I should go about seeking the copyright permission for the photo?

    Thanks so much.

    Best,

    Miriam Fernandes
