Customized Chocolate Bars

Ever wanted to make a personalized chocolate bar? At Chocomize you pick a type of chocolate (dark, milk or white) and choose from over 90 ingredients to go on top – nuts, spices, seeds, herbs, dried fruit, candy, decorations and even 24 karat gold flakes and Cinnamon Toast cereal! The combinations are endless.

Chocomize sent me a couple of personalized bars to sample:

A milk chocolate bar filled with dried fruit (goji berries, raspberries, blueberries and cranberries). The chocolate was creamy, smooth and sweet and the dried fruit was chewy, flavorful and tasted fresh. The side showing below has all the ingredients placed into the top of the bar and the other side is scored into small pieces that are easy to break off.

And a dark chocolate bar with mini pretzels, potato chips and vegetarian bacon. I know, I know – this sounds disgusting. But I couldn’t resist trying the bacon! This bar was a nice salty/sweet combo although I think in retrospect I would do milk chocolate for a sweeter counterpart to the salty.

The best part about this bar was the pretzel. If you’ve ever had a chocolate covered pretzel, you know what I’m talking about. The potato chips seemed like baked Lay’s and were a nice crunchy addition. The bacon bits are tiny and hard to taste over the slightly overpowering dark chocolate.
